PLM POC Quick Start

A PLM system proof-of-concept (POC) enables organizations to validate feasibility of the technology, vendor, cost, and resources required for a full implementation. The POC begins with installing the PLM at your organization and mentoring IT staff on the necessary procedures to keep the system up and running. After that, a system architect works closely with a core team of your subject matter experts, teaching them how to use the system’s standard out-of-the-box capabilities and configure workflows and release procedures to best match existing operations. Members of this core team become your PLM evangelists, responsible for teaching others how to use the system.

With the significantly reduced commitment of a POC, you can begin to create momentum for a project’s success, as well as identify any gaps, risks, and roadblocks to success. Your team will get a crash-course in the technology while also assessing how the technology will impact your business. In addition, you’ll validate business scenarios, evaluate PLM system design choices before a full-scale implementation, minimize development costs, and affirm ROI calculations. By demonstrating project benefits and arming you with the knowledge to plan accordingly, your organization can ensure your PLM investment is maximized.

The Solution

Razorleaf’s four-week POC program is targeted at organizations that are implementing their first PLM system or interested in gradually introducing PLM functionality and benefits to replace legacy processes and systems. With reduced scope and focused goals, it is designed to prove PLM benefits quickly, by establishing a PLM environment that uses standard capabilities for team collaboration, document and CAD design management, and review and approval processes. It is meant to be a precursor to more complex implementation steps, such as data migration and system integration.

Find out how Razorleaf’s team of experts can help you realize the benefits of the 3DEXPERIENCE PLM platform with a proof of concept.
