Razorleaf supports and sells a suite of software developed by Design Rule called 3dxtools. In this blog, the 3dxdesigner utility will be discussed and how it can be used to manage configuration changes between 3DEXPERIENCE environments.
Razorleaf had the opportunity to participate in a Dassault event called POWER’BY Days. During the event, we learned that POWER’BY is a strategy and that the functionality is real and available both on-premise and on-cloud.
In January Razorleaf, along with its business partners, attended the Dassault Systèmes Value Solutions Channel Kickoff in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This event is important for our team to network and learn what new goals and messages Dassault is delivering to the marketplace so we can support our company initiatives and align a growth plan to expand our market reach.
It has long been known that Dassault Systèmes would not support their license services on virtualized servers. This is a challenge when a company supports only virtual servers. However, we have learned that Dassault will now support license server virtualization. Read on for more information.
General Availability (GA) of Dassault Systèmes flagship 3DEXPERIENCE Platform was announced in early January 2018. The release, of course, introduces many new features, but more important R2018x enables the POWER’BY functionality enabling non-CATIA V6 users to create V6 product structures. The release is the first of a series of releases in R2018x that will increasingly provide POWER’BY functionality across CATIA V5, SOLIDWORKS and the remaining XCAD products, like Creo, NX, Inventor, Solid Edge, etc.
Dassault Systèmes will be turning on the POWER’BY technology in the upcoming R2018x release of the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform. How POWER’BY affects customers is yet to be seen. As far as we know, POWER’BY is not a role, license, etc., it is a feature that can be configured. Whether a customer enables or turns on POWER’BY immediately becomes a choice, and that choice is determined based on when a customer first deploys the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform.
In mid-November Razorleaf attended a training session for the new Ready-To-Use (aka Ready2Use or R2U) deployment program. The Ready2Use program was developed to accelerate the deployment process from weeks to days.
In early November Razorleaf attended Dassault’s annual 3DEXPERIENCE Customer Forum. This year the forum drew more than 500 attendees from North America and the event boasted industry-specific tracks covering 7 of the 12 industries Dassault addresses with its software portfolio.
Razorleaf recently encountered a customer issue in which a CAD integration user attempts to launch a CAD object in the web UI from SOLIDWORKS that fails to show the web UI 3DEXPERIENCE blue header bar.
We encountered this anomaly while assisting a customer.
We recently ran into an issue installing the Oracle 12c client software with SmarTeam.
When trying to install the Oracle 12c client (on a Windows machine), the installer threw the following error:
INS-30131: Failed to access the temporary location.
