Bio: Jonathan Scott is a PLM evangelist and solution architect promoting the use of product lifecycle management (PLM) concepts and methodologies for discrete manufacturers. As a former project manager and technical consultant on multiple PLM platforms and CAD platforms including Dassault, Autodesk, PTC, and Aras toolsets, Jonathan’s strengths include vision and strategy planning, as well as detailed solution development. Jonathan also speaks at industry conferences like SolidWorks World, COE, PLM Summit, ENOVIA Americas Customer Conference, BOM Summit, daratechPLANT, Aras Community Event, and Boeing’s/Northrop Grumman’s GPDIS.

Favorite Application: Microsoft OneNote on a Tablet PC. I love the handwriting recognition, but even better than that are the screen clipping capability and the ability to quickly sketch and share diagrams and drawings with people. I used to make tons of sketches of data structures, relationships, processes, and the like, but could never reuse them or find them because they were on paper – now I have them electronically and they take no more time to create.

Something Most People Don’t Know About Me: I’m pretty good at organizing my thoughts and detailed business logic, but terrible at organizing paper – my office is a MESS!
