11.7.2006 - PDMWorks Enterprise 2007 SP2 compatible with Internet Explorer 7
SolidWorks Corporation has reported to us that PDMWorks Enterprise 2007 SP2 has been validated to work with Internet Explorer 7. SolidWorks has not
performed testing on older versions of PDMWorks Enterprise, therefore their compatibility is unknown at this time.
11.1.2006 - SolidWorks Discontinues CD Media
SolidWorks has announced that starting with SolidWorks 2007 SP2, all new license sales will only ship with DVD media. The DVD will contain both the
32 bit and 64 bit versions. CD versions of SolidWorks 2007 can be specially requested through your SolidWorks reseller, but will not be available
for SolidWorks 2008.
10.20.2006 - Internet Explorer 7 Breaks AutoDesk DWF and DWG Viewers
AutoDesk is reporting through its employee bloggers that its DWF and DWG viewers are incompatible with Microsoft's Internet
Explorer 7. In addition, uninstalling I.E. 7 and reverting back to IE6 will not fix the problem. Please be aware that Microsoft
will include I.E. 7 in Windows automatic updates by November 1.
It will be necessary for those using these AutoDesk viewers to decline this download. We will update our Web
site as soon as possible with AutoDesk’s plans for I.E. 7 compatibility.
10.19.2006 - Current Versions of SmarTeam Incompatible with Internet Explorer 7
We have confirmed with SmarTeam that Microsoft Internet Explorer 7, which released on 10/19/2006, IS NOT compatible
with SmarTeam. Please be aware that Microsoft will include I.E. 7 in Windows automatic updates by November 1.
It will be necessary for those using SmarTeam to decline this download. We will update our Web
site as soon as possible with SmarTeam’s plans for I.E. 7 compatibility.
10.11.2006 - PDMWorks Enterprise 2007 Available for Download
The newest version of SolidWorks Corporation's PDMWorks Enterprise product (previously Conisio) is
now available for web download. Contact your SolidWorks Reseller for access to the download. SolidWorks
says that media shipments of PDMWorks Enterprise will commence mid-end October.
8.8.2006 - Dassault announces support for SolidWorks 2007
Dassault announces support for SolidWorks 2007 and eDrawings 2007 in ENOVIA SmarTeam V5R16SP7
and V5R17SP1. Read more in their
Press Release. NOTE: Our sources at Dassault indicate that SolidWorks will
not
be supported until V5R16SP8, not SP7 as indicated in the press release.

6.8.2006 - !! PDMWorks Enterprise (Conisio) Warning for SQL Server 2005
!!
It has come to our attention that Microsoft SQL Server 2005 SP0 contains a
serious flaw that could cause inconsistencies in Conisio file vault databases.
If you are using SQL Server 2005 SP0 you are strongly recommended to upgrade to
the latest SQL Server 2005 service pack. See this

instructions.
5.10.2006 - GCS Announces SQL No Longer
Available for Download
With the release of Conisio 6.4, the Microsoft SQL Server will no longer be
downloadable from GCS servers. Moving forward, this application will be
available on CD only.
5.4.2006 - SolidWorks Acquires GCS
SolidWorks Corporation has announced the acquisition of GCS, makers of Conisio.

3.13.2006 - IMPORTANT Notice About Web Licensing in SMARTEAM R14SP8 Release Notes
By default, SMARTEAM-Web will take up a license of SMARTEAM-Workflow as soon as a user logs in and displays his home page.
This is caused by the fact that the SmartBox is displayed on the user’s cockpit. The following provides a mechanism to
turn off the SmartBox from appearing in the Web Editor cockpit. With this enabled, the user will have to choose the
SmartBox link, and at that time a license will be taken. See how to configure the inbox

3.10.2006 - SMARTEAM V5R17 Slated For September
The newest major release of the SMARTEAM PLM software, Version 5, Release 17, is being targeted for
September of 2006. Features for this new version include support for SolidWorks 2007, the first CAD
integration over the web product (CATIA), and improvements in the web product including the ability
to componentize "web parts."
3.1.2006 - New Microsoft Policy for ActiveX and Java applets
Microsoft® has issued a new policy for ActiveX and Java applets that will take effect on March 1, 2006. This may cause a window to pop up when working with SMARTEAM Web applications
(SMARTEAM - Web Editor, SMARTEAM – Navigator, SMARTEAM – Community Workspace), requiring user interaction (mouse click, pressing Enter or space bar) before being able to continue.

2.14.2006 - Update To Conisio 6.3 Available
GCS CAD has released the v96 patch for Conisio 6.3 is now available for download. Please
contact us for the download location. This update improves upon and corrects reported issues since initial
6.3 release. Among the improvements in this update are performance speed optimizations for scheduled replication setups. Full installation and
distribution instructions are included in the download. To check your
version, open Add/Remove Programs from the Windows Control Panel, select Conisio
and press "Click here for support information".

VMWare has announced a nedw version of their virtualization software for servers for Windows
and Linux servers. VMWare enables users to create multiple virtual machines on a single computer. These virtual machines enable the testing of multiple operating systems,

1.27.2006 - Conisio Receives Gold Solution Partner Status With Release of Conisio 6.3
GCS announces that it has received
SolidWorks Gold Solution Partner status with it's latest release of Conisio software, release 6.3. Conisio 6.3 is available for download for clients with
current maintenance. The What's New Document is available from the Razorleaf web site. New
license codes will be needed for 6.3. A press release is available on the Conisio web site.

SMARTEAM has released the latest service pack for V5R14
of it's PLM product. This service pack includes certification for Microsoft Windows Server 2003 SP1, SolidWorks 2006 SP2.0,
SolidWorks 2005 SP5.0, Solid Edge V167 SP7, eDrawings Viewer 2006, AutoCAD 2006, AutoDesk Inventor 10 and DS CATIA Viewer R16.

12.12.2005 - Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Update - As previously noted, SMARTEAM cannot run on a machine
which has Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 installed on it (server or client). SMARTEAM
has issued a hot fix to correct this problem. This hot fix correction will be
included in an upcoming V5R14 service pack. It is applicable for all SmarTeam V5R14
products except for SMARTEAM Web Applications, System Configuration Editor, Development
Suite and SMARTEAM - Gateway, as they must run on a dedicated machine without .NET
Framework 2.0 installed on it. This hot fix can be downloaded from
https://support.smarteam.com/Enabling_SMARTEAM_in_.NET_2.0_environment.htm. Should
you have a need to install .NET Framework 2.0 on a pre-SMARTEAM V5R14 machine please
contact the technical support
group for assistance.
11.28.2005 - CRITICAL SMARTEAM UPDATE
SmarTeam announced last week that a Hot Fix, due to be released early December,
will be provided for all supported SMARTEAM releases to enable SMARTEAM to run
on a machine which has Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 installed on it. Razorleaf

Please be aware that Microsoft announced as of yesterday, 11-08-2005, that .Net Framework 2.0 will be distributed
as an optional download via Microsoft Windows automatic updates. All SMARTEAM users and administrators should be
aware that SMARTEAM is not compatible with version 2.0 of the .Net Framework. Allowing this update to install on
any machine (clients and/or servers) running SMARTEAM will render SMARTEAM unusable. Razorleaf strongly recommends

Razorleaf has just announced the availability of the Razorleaf Batch Process
Server for for automating and off-loading repetitive tasks like batch printing,
conversions, archiving and more. The Batch Process Server can also be utilized
with PDM/TDM and PLM systems. The product ships with an integration to SMARTEAM.

teaching SolidWorks and engineering design intent to students from the College of Engineering and the Wharton
