CADFIT inspects SolidWorks file relationships to analyze your CAD data’s health.
CADFIT (CAD File Inspection Tool) is a free tool for discovering problems with the integrity of SolidWorks relational data. Once the tool is run and the raw data is uploaded to the web, a free summary report is provided as feedback on the quality of the inspected data. Additional, more detailed reports are available for a fee so that users can begin correcting problems in the CAD data set.
CADFIT offers engineers an excellent way to easily understand the quality of their CAD data, and to target repairs to their data set. This is particularly useful to those preparing for a PDM data load. Those seeking to justify better CAD data management processes/tools will also find the tool invaluable as it quantifies the scale of existing problems.
CADFIT cycles through file sets to gather information about the files and the external references reported by the files. The information is loaded into a database for data extraction in a variety of formats.
Standard reporting aspects include:
- All parents with missing child references
- All parents with child references that are not within the intended load set
- Duplicate files – same name, same content
- Duplicate files – same name, different content
Additional detailed reporting areas:
- File counts by SolidWorks version
- File age bracket reports
- Alternate locations for missing files
- Files with reported locations on client machines
- Custom property usage summary
