Quality Gets a Boost with InspectionXpert

Whether you’re among the ranks of Engineering or Quality, creating inspection sheets can be a real pain.  InspectionXpert is a valuable tool for automating processes around inspection sheets, and worth a look if your industry requires documented inspections.  Nobody likes creating inspection sheets from scratch.  First there’s the duplication of effort in generating the graphics, unless of course you use the CAD tool itself or are able to import a DXF or DWG version of the graphics.  Then there is the re-entry of the dimensional information, whether it is GD&T or a simple nominal value or tolerance.  The whole process can be somewhat involved, and mistakes can be made causing good parts to be rejected.

What jumps out about the functionality of InspectionXpert is the ease and speed with which a user can generate an inspection report.  The report can be generated either from a neutral file drawing (PDF) or by using one of the InspectionXpert CAD integrations (integrations exist for SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD, Pro/Engineer and others).  The user interface is intuitive and is not “inspection” oriented, in other words, just about anyone could use the tool or could learn the tool quickly.

Finally, InspectionXpert enables your company to easily standardize inspection reports.  By using InspectionXpert templates, you can specify default options and settings further reducing the time to create inspection sheets.  InspectionXpert also supports industry standards for Aerospace, Automotive, and Medical Device like AS9100, ANSI Z1.4, and ISO/TS16949.
